Large Elephant Herds, Baobab Trees, Seasonal Migration of Wildlife
Tarangire National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is a hidden gem that offers a unique and enriching safari experience. Covering approximately 2,850 square kilometers, the park is famous for its dense population of elephants, often seen in large herds along the Tarangire River, which serves as the park’s lifeline, especially during the dry season. This river attracts an abundance of wildlife, including lions, leopards, buffaloes, and zebras, making it a prime location for game viewing.
The park’s landscape is diverse and picturesque, featuring rolling savannahs, acacia woodlands, and the iconic baobab trees, which dominate the scenery and create an almost mystical atmosphere. Tarangire is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, boasting over 550 bird species, including the colorful yellow-collared lovebird and the giant kingfisher.
