The experience: From Launch to Land

The adventure starts early, with a pre-dawn departure from your lodge to the launch site. Here, you’ll watch as the massive balloon is inflated—a spectacle in itself. Once aboard, the gentle ascent begins, and as the landscape stretches out beneath you, the world below comes to life. The flight lasts about an hour, covering anywhere from 5 to 20 kilometers, depending on wind conditions. After landing, the experience continues with a traditional bush breakfast served on the plains, often accompanied by a glass of champagne to toast your adventure.

Best time to visit

Balloon safaris in both the Masai Mara and Serengeti are available year-round, but the best time to experience the Great Migration is from July to October when millions of animals traverse the plains. The weather is generally favorable, with cool mornings that warm up as the sun rises—perfect for an early morning flight.
