Rothschild Giraffe Conservation, Interactive Wildlife Experience & Giraffe Manor
Discover the majestic beauty of the Rothschild giraffe at the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi, a must-visit attraction that offers an unforgettable experience for wildlife enthusiasts. Established by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW), the Giraffe Centre is dedicated to the conservation and protection of the endangered Rothschild giraffe, a species native to the grasslands of East Africa.
At the Giraffe Centre, you’ll have the unique opportunity to interact with these gentle giants up close, feeding them from specially designed platforms and learning about their ecology and the efforts being made to ensure their survival. The centre’s breeding program has been a significant success, with several Rothschild giraffes being reintroduced into Kenya’s national parks, helping to bolster their population in the wild.
In addition to giraffes, the centre is home to other wildlife, including friendly warthogs that roam the grounds. Across the road, you’ll find a lush 95-acre nature sanctuary, perfect for birdwatching and enjoying a peaceful walk in nature.
