Overview

Hidden deep within Kafue National Park, the Busanga Plains are a breathtaking expanse of seasonal floodplains, teeming with diverse wildlife and dramatic landscapes. This remote paradise comes alive from June to November when the waters recede, revealing lush grasslands that attract vast herds of red lechwe, puku, buffalo, and wildebeest—a feast for the park’s top predators, including lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs. Known for its tree-climbing lions, Busanga offers a rare chance to see these big cats lounging in fig trees, scanning the plains for their next hunt. With misty sunrises, golden sunsets, and endless horizons, this is the kind of untouched wilderness that safari dreams are made of.

The area is home to just a handful of intimate bush camps, ensuring a personal and immersive experience in the heart of the wild. Glide silently over the plains on a hot air balloon safari, witness predator-prey encounters up close, or simply soak in the serenity of nature untouched by time.
